I bet each of you reading this loves or knows someone whose life has been impacted by cancer. In November 2017, I heard the words "You have cancer." I know my cancer diagnosis didn't only have a big impact on me, but those who love me as well. I have had family members and dear friends diagnosed with various types cancer. It is all around us. It impacts us all in some way.
While I was going through treatments, I couldn't help but be SO incredibly grateful for the research and funding that gave me the opportunity to beat the cancer that invaded my body. Without funding, advances in research are halted. Advancements in treatment and care aren't made. Family support and survivorship resources are minimized. Research and funding are a must if we ever want to see a world without cancer!!
On Sunday, October 6, 2024, I will lace up my sneakers to walk in the 2024 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk. I've pledged to raise funds that will support critical cancer research and innovative pediatric and adult patient care. Please join me in the fight against cancer by considering making a contribution toward my fundraising efforts. With your help, we can move closer to the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and for supporting me as I take steps to defy cancer.
With much love,
Christin George ~Cancer Survivor
