WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER
Team “Lymphoma Warriors” was created in 2023 to raise needed funds in support of Dana Farber’s Hematologic Malignancies Research. Our family was inspired to dedicate our Dana Farber fundraising efforts to Dr. Matthew Davids and his team after seeing first-hand the impact cutting edge research has on improving care, quality of life and even life expectancy for those diagnosed with lymphoma. Our forever Captain, Jay Perry, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive T-Cell Lymphoma (AITL) in the summer of 2021 by Dr. Davids and his team. He has been on a cutting-edge drug trial since and as a result our time with him has been extended
In 2024 Team Lymphoma Warriors will also be fundraising for Breast Cancer Research in support of our friend Kristen Sayde. Kristen has been battling Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Cancer since being diagnosed in 2023. Kristen is also on a trial drug and is under the expert care of Dr Philip Poorvu at Dana Farber. 50% of funds raised will go to Dr. Poorvu’s research fund at Dana Farber.
