By participating in the 2024 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, our team is making every step count toward the ultimate finish line: a world without ALD, Cancer and other rare diseases.
In August of 2018 the Smiths first heard the word ADRENOLEUKODYSTROPHY.
After a horrifying few weeks of living the fear of every parent's worst nightmare, Grady was admitted for a bone marrow transplant.
With Grady's unwavering strength, his amazing team of doctor's and his angel donor, his ALD was halted. Although this was the miracle they had all been praying for, this did not come without massive challenges and heartbreak. Almost 6 years later Grady is still fighting a very tough and scary battle with his team at the Jimmy Fund Clinic to try to put his fight with GVHD (a transplant related complication) behind him once and for all.
Over the past six years, The Jimmy Fund Clinic has become their family and home away from home. After a bit of a hiatus, Grady Gladiators are back for the 2024 Jimmy Fund Walk. We couldn't be happier to be involved and look forward to making this the best walk ever.
