Thank you for your support of Dana Farber’s Immune Effector Cell Team!
This year, we wanted to honor and memorialize our own teammate, Gina Rong. All her life she wished to care deeply of patients in the clinical setting, and ultimately continued her journey into medical school, until her leukemia diagnosis became all-consuming.
Her unwavering resiliency and compassion for patients brought her to Dana Farber’s Immune Effector Cell program, where she actively sought to bring potentially curative CAR-T therapies to many patients in Dana Farber alongside tremendously supportive teammates and mentors. Throughout her time at Dana Farber, she assumed the unfortunate duality of patient and healthcare worker, as she battled her disease, and cared for many patients in fighting their own.
On August 5th, 2020 Gina passed away from her brave and valiant battle against acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 29. However, her legacy lives on within the patient halls at Dana Farber, as we honor her endless enthusiasm to our collective mission as both a Clinical Research Coordinator and as a patient of CAR-T therapy.
We hope you can donate to not only her cause, but many other patients who begin their battle against malignant disease; to keep Gina’s mission alive for future patients and CRC’s.
