We all know someone who has had to fight this horrible disease. Some get to beat it, some still fight and unfortunately many have lost. In July of 2022 we all lost a great human being that this team is named for Mike McGrail. I had the pleasure of meeting Mike at our daughters soccer games and quickly became friends with him. He was literally one of the strongest people I had ever met, with a love for music and the ability to talk about anything with anyone. Mike was always willing to help anyone at any time. The first two times I ran for Dana Farber Mike was still with us and was literally the first one to donate usually within minutes of posting. I know he was looking down on us last year and helped many of us cross the finish line.
I am running in his memory. But I am also running in memory for my Uncle Rich, a co worker who lost his battle this past year Mike B, a friend Jimmy K and so many others. I am running for my friend Tracy who is continuing her fight and is tough as nails, and all the others battling every day.
I run for my Mom and friend Chris who beat it!
I run with the hope that someday no one will have to fight. That no one will have to watch a family member or friend battle this disease. Please consider donating, please help cure cancer, every dollar counts.
