Last year I cheered on the sideline for my my girlfriend’s twin sister and my good friend, Elizabeth ("Izz"), and the rest of the DFCI team. This year, I’ve decided to raise money for this cause close to me and my girlfriends heart and to run! Here is Izz’s story below, why I will be raising money for DFCI Laps for Lab Mullally.
Izz was diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia (ET), a chronic myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN), also known as a chronic blood cancer back in 2016. Once diagnosed she began being followed at Dana Farber by Dr. Mullally. In addition to providing patient care, Dr. Mullally leads a research lab at Dana Farber/Brigham and Women's. The overarching goal of the research is to advance the understanding of the biology of MPN and to translate this into improved treatment options for patients dealing with these diseases. One day, I hope there’s an improved treatment option for Izz and all others with ET.
Thank you in advance for any donation you’re able to give!
