On September 4, 2021, we lost Iggy to cancer. Iggy was not only my best friend, but the best person I will probably ever know. He proudly served the City of Worcester as a Police Officer for 17 years and embodied greatness in all aspects of his life. Iggy was a fighter. More importantly , he was the epitome of humanity. We need Iggys in this world, and cannot continue to lose great spouses, parents, children, siblings, friends, family members and members of law enforcement to cancer.
Both Iggy and his incredible mother Haydee were treated at Dana Farber. After treatment Iggy would often selflessly reflect on the children he would see who were also receiving treatment. Without any regard for his own circumstances, he hoped for a day when children would not have to endure what he was enduring. I am confident that he would also hope that no person would ever face the same fate he did. Simply, better treatment options are needed and cancer must be eliminated! I am fundraising with the DFMC to further that goal.
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research. Every dollar helps.
Thank you for your support! I greatly appreciate it! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
