Cancer affects us all. I am running the Boston marathon for my dad, the kiddos, other family members, friends, my patients at DFCI and their families, and all others affected by this horrible disease.
April 24, 2025 marks 10 years since my dad passed away from aggressive prostate cancer. He was diagnosed in 2010, and it is my goal to raise $15,000 by the marathon on April 21, 2025, $1,000 per year since diagnosis to put toward advancing cancer care and research. 100% of every dollar raised on my page supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Cancer research at Dana-Farber is a cause that is so meaningful in both my personal and professional life. After just one trip to Boston, Dana-Farber made my dad feel so cared for, a true person more than a patient. Ever since, Dana-Farber has always held a special place in my heart, and I am so grateful to be working at DFCI in the outpatient palliative care clinic the past 4.5 years.
This is my first ever marathon, and I am so honored to have the opportunity to run for all those who have fought and are continuing to fight this horrible disease. Running the Boston marathon a few days before the 10-year anniversary of my dad’s passing is a moment that means the world to me, and I am so glad and appreciative that you are here to be a part of this experience with me.
Thank you so much for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
