Dear All
It is the season to give for the greater good and be grateful for all that is good in our lives. I would like to take a moment to thank you for all the love and encouragement you have shown for my fundraising efforts over the years supporting my various causes.
This year, continuing in the tradition of combining my passion for the outdoors with giving back to a cause close to my heart, I have been invited by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) to run the Boston Marathon! in April 2025. Never imagined that I would have a chance to run arguably one of the most difficult, the oldest, most prestigious and historically significant races. I have set a fundraising goal of 15K and will be supporting their mission-finding cures for cancer.
For those of you who know me, you know this is deeply personal. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by a cancer diagnosis-some losing the fight but many still standing thanks to the important and impactful work that organizations such as the DFCI do. Running a marathon pales in comparison to the real life ultramarathon that this diagnosis brings. This will be the grand finale to my passion/patience project that started in 2022😊-running all the world major marathons (NYC, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Chicago and Boston) whilst raising funds for causes close to my heart. I survived the first five and Boston will be my sixth major.
Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC) directs 100% of the funds to the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research fostering scientific breakthroughs. Your donations are 100% tax deductible. Please do apply for employer match if eligible and keep me posted if you do, will need proof to share with the organization for tracking purposes.
It is my privilege to be given an opportunity to be a small part of the effort for a cure and make this world a bit better than how I found it. I hope that you will support my cause by toeing the start line with me in spirit as I run for my tribe and head toward that ultimate finish line-‘A world without cancer’.
