Hello there! I am incredibly honored to share that I will be running the Boston Marathon with Dana Farber as my first marathon! I cannot think of a better organization to run 26.2 miles for.
In February of 2020 I lost my aunt, Barbara Smith, to a grueling battle with breast cancer. My aunt was someone who had so much love, joy, and hope to share with the world. I will always be in awe of the unwavering strength she showed everyday, no matter what she was going through. I would not be the woman I am today without her constant presence of support growing up. That is why I am so grateful to have the opportunity to give back and honor my aunt by raising money for cancer research in her memory.
I know so many of us have similar stories of loved ones lost too soon to this terrible disease. As a nurse, I see first hand the impact cancer has on patients and their families. Know that I am running not only for my aunt, but for all of those that we’ve lost to cancer, and for everyone that doesn’t have the privilege or ability to run. All of my family, friends, and patients who have been impacted by cancer will be in my heart as I take on this journey!
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising, globally renowned cancer research.
Thank you for taking time to visit my fundraising page! Please consider donating to this incredible cause. No donation is too small!
See you in Boston!!
