I am running to raise funds for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I have been a patient there since July of 2009. This past year has been a rough one as the breast cancer progressed to my brain and I had to undergo Whole Brain Radiation. I was then placed on high dose steroids to reduce inflammation in my brain. The effects of these steroids are brutal and include leg muscle atrophy, facial swelling, weight gain and nausea. I am hopeful that I will regain strength and be able to run as well as before and be an active member of the community!
Please consider making a donation to my efforts to raise funds for Metastatic Breast Cancer. It is the least funded area of breast cancer research, receiving less than 7% of all funds raised annually nationwide.
Thanks to your support, Dana-Farber continues to make strides towards the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow’s cures through cutting-edge research.
Thank you for your support!
Fondly,
Carol Chaoui
