WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

Joe Mancias, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and Principal Investigator at The Mancias Lab, located at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Harvard Medical School, in Boston, Massachusetts. The Mancias Lab is focused on the study of pancreatic cancer. As the third leading cause of cancer death in the United States, pancreatic cancer patients are in desperate need of new treatment options. Dr. Mancias and his team study critical aspects of the biology of pancreatic cancer to develop novel therapeutic approaches. They take a comprehensive approach combining biochemical, quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomic, gene editing, cell biological, and mouse modeling techniques to advance our understanding of pancreatic cancer.
