On October 2, for the 12th time, Team Diane will walk the Boston Marathon route, starting before dawn, from Hopkinton to Boston. Team Diane is a dedicated crew of women and men who have have committed to raise funds every year since 2011 to support the work of Dr. Ursula Matulonis, who heads the gynecological cancers research and treatment group at Dana Farber.
We first got to know Dr. Matulonis when she treated our dear friend Diane Brewster, in whose memory our team is named. Dr. Matulonis and Dana Farber have continued to advance treatment and care options for women like Diane, making advances each year to improve outcomes. We are proud to support this work, and we hope you will consider joining us in this effort by donating to Team Diane this year.
Pictured above are the members of Team Diane and our partners on Team Q, in 2019. During the pandemic, in 2020 and 2021, we continued to walk and fundraise even though we could not walk together in Boston. We are thrilled to be able to come together again as a community of hope and support, out there on the route, walking the Walk, once again this year.
We each have our reasons for walking, to honor and remember lost family and friends, to express our gratitude for those who have been treated successfully, or to build hope for better outcomes for the sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends who may have to confront gynecological cancers in the future.
