WHY I'M FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK

I am participating for the 15th time in the 2022 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without ovarian or any other cancer.

I walk in memory of my aunt Chris who passed away from ovarian cancer over 10 years ago. A woman's lifetime risk of developing ovarian cancer is 1 in 71 and the risk of dying from this disease is 1 in 95. OVARIAN CANCER BRIGADE has raised over $620K that has gone to The Dr. Ursula Matulonis Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Matulonis is dedicated to research, early detection, quality of life and ultimately and ideally—a cure for ovarian cancer which if caught early enough is a highly treatable disease.
