I'm honored to be able to once again walk in memory of some amazing people who are gone too soon. I will take the memory of my Uncle Dill with me as I walk. I'll think about our many discussions about lilacs and gardening - where to plant which vegetable for the best yield, the fact that according to him "ground hogs are lazy. They don't climb." (They Do... ) I will always think of him whenever I see a Cardinal, and think back to our trips to pick out lilacs together. I'll also be thinking of his desire to create the best crusty French bread, and his efforts to master the recipe for my grandmother's famous jelly filled sticky buns.
I will also walk in honor of my Uncle Phil, my mother's twin brother, who died long before I was born of Hodgkin disease.
