Corinne had an instant connection with Max, her oncologist. They shared the love of, and the talent to, create music. And there was all the science, research and medical lingo which filled their conversations whether they were discussing Corinne's care or any other topic that sparked an interest in either of them. This was a wonder to witness which left me feeling proud of Rin and grateful for Max as well as all the workers at the Jimmy Fund Clinic.
My hope is that someday with the work of researchers at DFCI like Kim Stegmaier there will be more successful treatments and even a cure for rhabdomyosarcoma. No person, let alone a young one, deserves to suffer and lose their life, no family should feel the sharp and unrelenting loss of their loved one, when they deserve so much more of life and have so much more love to give.
I am participating in the 2022 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
When you make a gift to my Walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge research and compassionate patient care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can defy cancer!
