My husband, Paul, was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) in December, 2015. In April, 2021 after routine labs, Paul was informed that his disease was ramping up and his best chance for success was a stem cell transplant. Paul began chemotherapy treatment right away and had a stem cell transplant in August, 2021. Over the 4.5 months post transplant, Paul, had multiple long stays in the hospital due to contracting a number of viruses. The week before Thanksgiving, my husband went into the hospital and never came home. Paul passed on Saturday, December 11, 2021, due to complications with multiple pneumonias. He was 58 years young.
We are walking in the hopes that, together, we can defy cancer and hopefully no one will ever have to endure what Paul went through. He and all who have lost their battle to cancer as well as those who continue to battle any form of this disease are the TRUE WARRIORS!
Thank you!
