I run for Dana Farber in honor of my mother, who despite her courageous fight against cancer, sadly passed away in December of 2022. Anyone and everyone who knew my mom could feel her strength, bravery, and determination. She was the toughest person I knew, especially while receiving treatment at Dana-Farber. I run to honor her, and the many others who we have lost to cancer, in hopes to one day find a cure to this horrible disease.
Not only do I hold this race close to my heart due to the incredible team I get to run alongside, but because my mom grew up in Falmouth herself. At so many points throughout the 7-mile route, I can recall countless memories that I share with my mom and the rest of our family from many family vacations to one of our favorite places in the world. Falmouth will always be somewhere that I can go to feel my mom's presence, and I look forward to running in her memory again this year. Go Ellie's Husslers!!!
On August 18, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners, including myself, will participate in the 52nd running of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race! I am training to run 7-miles along Cape Cod’s scenic coastline, while raising critical funds that directly support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patients and families, in New England and around the world.
Every mile and each donation, no matter the size, supports The Dana-Farber Campaign, the Institute’s ambitious, multi-year fundraising effort, focused on supporting revolutionary research, extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and other priorities, to help Dana-Farber accomplish its mission of preventing, treating, and defying cancer.
Thank you for your support! Together, we are helping Dana-Farber race toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
